To check your Iqama status, sign in to your own Absher account and open your resident details. The record shows whether the Iqama is valid and when it expires. Employers can see the same status for staff in Muqeem.

Check it in Absher

  1. Sign in. Open the Absher app or website and sign in as an individual using your Iqama number and password. Complete the one-time code sent to the mobile number registered with Absher.
  2. Open your profile or documents. Look for your resident details. Menu names change between versions, so look for items about Iqama or resident ID.
  3. Read the expiry date and status. Note whether the date is shown in Hijri or Gregorian. If Hijri, use the converter.
  4. Set a reminder. Use the expiry countdown to download a calendar reminder.

Employer route

Employers and their PROs manage staff Iqamas in Muqeem. If you cannot sign in to Absher, ask your employer to read your status and expiry date from Muqeem. Read what Muqeem is.

What each status means

Valid

The Iqama is within its validity period. Plan renewal before the expiry date.

Expired

The validity period has ended. Renewal is needed, and late renewal can bring fines. See late renewal fines.

Cancelled or exited

This can follow a final exit or a cancelled residence. If you did not expect it, ask your employer and check Absher before you travel.

Questions

Can I check my Iqama status without Absher?

Employers can check employee records through Muqeem. Individuals normally use their own Absher account. Pages that claim to check any Iqama by number alone should not be trusted with your personal details.

What does an expired Iqama status mean?

The residence period has ended and renewal has not been completed. Renew as soon as possible and read the fines page.

How often should I check?

Check at least a month before the expiry date so that you have time to pay fees, update insurance and renew.

Why can my status look different on two services?

Records take time to update after renewal, a transfer or a final exit. If the difference lasts more than a day, ask your employer to check in Muqeem.
